After breast cancer treatment, many survivors face a new challenge: lymphedema. This condition, caused by lymph fluid buildup, can lead to swelling, discomfort, and difficulty with everyday activities. One of our recent patients experienced all of these struggles—her arm was swollen and heavy, making it hard to move, sleep, or even dress comfortably. The emotional impact was just as real, affecting her confidence and daily life.

Lymphedema is a lifelong condition, but new therapies are offering hope. Alongside traditional treatments like compression bandaging and surgical procedures, our patient was prescribed a GLP-1 medication—originally developed for diabetes and weight loss. This innovative approach, combined with her dedication to therapy, led to significant improvements. The swelling decreased, her arm felt lighter, and her confidence soared. She even felt comfortable wearing sleeveless shirts again!
