Compression Garments
Finding the right compression garment and making sure it fits a patient correctly is a significant part of lymphedema treatment for all of our patients.
As certified lymphedema therapists, we take pride in measuring and fitting our patients for compression garments. If a patient has undergone CDT and reduced their lymphedema, getting them into a well fitted garment will ensure ongoing reduction of their lymphedema. Anyone can easily order compression socks and sleeves online, however there is no standardization, and most often these garments are not properly fitting our patients. We highly encourage patients to speak with one of our CLTs to help them find the right garment; whether it be for day time, night time, custom or ready to wear, fitting for compression garments is an integral part of each patients’ treatment.
If worn daily, compression garments should be replaced every four to six months.
