Breast Cancer Rehabilitation

From Diagnosis to Survivorship

Recovering from breast cancer treatment can be difficult. Patients are often in pain and fearful to move. Experienced Physical and Occupational Therapist can help manage pain, answer questions, and improve your motion.  In coordination with your physicians, we educate you on the dos and don’ts, so you can progress through treatment more easily, and with less hesitation. Best results are achieved when patients are referred 2–3-week post-surgery, or while in active chemo or radiation.  However, the rehab we provide is also effective when treating the long-term side effects of cancer treatments even years after treatment.

We specialize in treating a full range of conditions related to your treatment.  Some of these might include:

  • Pain

  • Stiffness

  • Loss of function / activities of daily living

  • Cording

  • Scar tissue and fibrosis

  • Weakness

  • Fatigue

  • Neuropathy

  • Gait and balance issues

  • Reduced range of motion

In addition, our advanced knowledge of the lymphatic system, allows us to help reduce your risks of developing lymphedema.  Risk reduction, patient education and early detection are the cornerstone of our practice, thus if lymphedema does develop we are equipped to help manage and start treatment as necessary.
